About Skill Fest: Skill Fest is one of Mumbai's most anticipated student-centric competitive festivals, created to celebrate skills, creativity, curiosity, and excellence among young learners.

The festival provides a powerful platform for children and students to showcase their talents across academics, sports, innovation, and creative disciplines.

Skill Fest has grown into a city-level celebration attracting participation from schools and institutions across Mumbai and Navi Mumbai. The fest entered into a new phase of structured growth and modern execution under the leadership of Mr. Ilyas Ansari, who successfully led the 2021-2022 editions, strengthening student engagement and expanding the festival's reach.

With a diverse range of indoor, outdoor, stage, and online competitions, Skill Fest ensures inclusive participation for all. Every participant is recognized with a certificate, while winners are honored with medals, merit recognitions, and select cash prizes.

RULES AND REGULATIONS - SKILL FEST

Please review activity rules carefully before participation.

INDOOR ACTIVITIES

The Penman (Handwriting Competition)
  1. The given passage or write-up should be completed with no missing words or sentences.
  2. Competition must be completed in given fixed time.
  3. Only paper provided by organizers must be used.
  4. Participants must use specified writing instrument, such as blue or black pen. Other writing materials such as color pencils and sketch pens should be avoided.
  5. Handwriting should be neat, clear and legible.
  6. Spelling, grammar, punctuation and correct formation of letters will be considered.
  7. Excessive cutting, erasing, overwriting or scribbling may affect the score.
  8. Entries will be judged on neatness, legibility, letter formation, spacing, alignment, accuracy and overall presentation.
The Storyteller (Essay Writing Competition)
  1. The essay must be written on the given topic and should be completed within the specified word limit.
  2. The competition must be completed within the given fixed time.
  3. Only paper provided by the organizers must be used.
  4. Participants must use the specified writing instrument, such as a blue or black pen.
  5. The essay should have a suitable title, proper introduction, well-organized content and conclusion.
  6. Grammar, spelling, punctuation and sentence formation will be considered.
  7. Plagiarism, copying or use of unfair means is strictly prohibited and may lead to disqualification.
  8. Entries will be judged on content, creativity, relevance to the topic, language, organization, presentation and overall impact.
Wit & Zeal (Quiz Competition)
  1. Each team will consist of 5 participants, including 1 captain.
  2. The quiz will be conducted in different rounds, as decided by the organizers.
  3. The quiz will cover Current Affairs, General Knowledge, Mathematics, Riddles and Puzzles, History, Geography, Science and Languages.
  4. The captain will be responsible for operating the buzzer during the Buzzer Round.
  5. Only the team that presses the buzzer first will be given the opportunity to answer.
  6. Participants must answer within the given time limit. No extra time will be provided.
  7. Mobile phones, books, notes or any external assistance are strictly prohibited.
  8. In case of a tie, a tie-breaker round may be conducted. The Quizmaster's decision will be final.
Carrom Striker (Carrom Competition)
  1. The competition will be conducted on a knockout basis as decided by the organizers.
  2. Each match will be played between two participants.
  3. Participants must report at the venue before the scheduled time.
  4. Participants must use the carrom board, coins and striker provided by the organizers.
  5. Players must follow the standard rules of carrom and take their turns in proper order.
  6. Foul shots or improper moves will result in penalties as per the rules of the game.
  7. Participants must maintain discipline and fair play throughout the competition.
  8. The winner will be decided based on points and successful completion of the game. The referee or judge's decision will be final.
The Grandmaster (Chess Competition)
  1. The competition will be conducted through individual matches as decided by the organizers.
  2. Participants must report at the venue before the scheduled time.
  3. Players must follow the standard rules of chess throughout the match.
  4. Each player must make their move within the specified time limit, if a timer is provided.
  5. Illegal moves, unfair practices or outside assistance are strictly prohibited.
  6. Participants must maintain silence, discipline and sportsmanship during the game.
  7. In case of a tie, a tie-breaker match or round may be conducted.
  8. The winner will be decided based on game results and overall performance. The judge or referee's decision will be final.
Canvas & Strokes (Drawing Competition)
  1. Participants must create their artwork on the given topic or theme within the specified time.
  2. Canvas and art materials will be provided or allowed as decided by the organizers.
  3. The artwork must be original and created during the competition.
  4. Participants may use colors and techniques permitted by the organizers.
  5. Tracing, copying, printed images or outside assistance are not allowed.
  6. Participants must maintain cleanliness and discipline at their workspace.
  7. The artwork will be judged on creativity, originality, technique, relevance to the theme and overall presentation.
  8. The judges' decision will be final.

STAGE ACTIVITIES

The Orator (Elocution Competition)
  1. Participants must speak on the given topic within the specified time limit.
  2. The speech should be original, clear and well-structured.
  3. Participants must speak in the language specified by the organizers.
  4. Reading from notes, mobile phones or external assistance is not allowed.
  5. Participants should maintain proper pronunciation, voice modulation, confidence and body language.
  6. The speech must remain relevant to the given topic.
  7. Participants exceeding the time limit may be penalized.
  8. Participants will be judged on content, fluency, expression, confidence, presentation and overall impact. The judges' decision will be final.
The Aesthetic India (Tattoo / Mehadi Competition)
  1. Participants must create a tattoo or mehendi design based on the given theme within the specified time.
  2. Participants must use skin-safe, permitted materials provided or approved by the organizers.
  3. The design must be original and created during the competition.
  4. Pre-drawn designs, stencils, tracing or outside assistance are not allowed.
  5. Participants must maintain hygiene, cleanliness and safety throughout the competition.
  6. The design should reflect creativity, detailing and artistic expression.
  7. Participants will be judged on creativity, originality, neatness, detailing, relevance to the theme and overall presentation.
  8. The judges' decision will be final.
Nritya Naatraj (Dance Competition)
  1. Participants must perform a dance of their choice within the specified time limit.
  2. Participants may perform solo or in the specified category as decided by the organizers.
  3. The performance should be appropriate, creative and suitable for the event.
  4. Participants must bring their music track or requirements as instructed by the organizers.
  5. Vulgar or inappropriate gestures, lyrics or costumes are not permitted.
  6. Participants must report before their allotted performance time.
  7. Performances will be judged on expression, rhythm, coordination, creativity, energy and overall presentation.
  8. The judges' decision will be final.
Sur Samrat (Singing Competition)
  1. Participants must perform a song of their choice within the specified time limit.
  2. Participants may perform solo or in the specified category as decided by the organizers.
  3. Participants may use instrumental or karaoke tracks as permitted by the organizers.
  4. The song should be appropriate and suitable for the event.
  5. Participants must bring their music track or instruments, if required.
  6. Participants must report before their allotted performance time.
  7. Performances will be judged on voice quality, pitch, rhythm, expression, clarity and overall presentation.
  8. The judges' decision will be final.

OUTDOOR ACTIVITIES

Crick-Fest League (Cricket Tournament)
  1. The competition will be conducted in league format as decided by the organizers.
  2. Each team must have the specified number of players and a designated captain.
  3. Matches will be played according to the rules and format specified by the organizers.
  4. Players must report to the venue before their scheduled match time.
  5. Proper sports attire and footwear must be worn during the match.
  6. Fair play, discipline and sportsmanship must be maintained throughout the competition.
  7. The score of each match will determine the team's position and qualification as per the league format.
  8. Any dispute will be handled by the officials or umpires, whose decision will be final.
Foot-Fest League (Football Tournament)
  1. The competition will be conducted in league format as decided by the organizers.
  2. Each team must have the specified number of players and a designated captain.
  3. Matches will be played according to the rules and format specified by the organizers.
  4. Players must report to the venue before their scheduled match time.
  5. Proper sports attire and footwear must be worn during the match.
  6. Fair play, discipline and sportsmanship must be maintained throughout the competition.
  7. The score of each match will determine the team's position and qualification as per the league format.
  8. Any dispute will be handled by the referee or officials, whose decision will be final.
The Lord of Ring (Basketball Tournament)
  1. The competition will be conducted in league or knockout format as decided by the organizers.
  2. Each team must have the specified number of players and a designated captain.
  3. Matches will be played according to the standard rules of basketball.
  4. Players must report to the venue before their scheduled match time.
  5. Proper sports attire and footwear must be worn during the match.
  6. Fair play, discipline and sportsmanship must be maintained throughout the competition.
  7. The score of each match will determine the team's position and qualification as per the format.
  8. Any dispute will be handled by the referee or officials, whose decision will be final.
Shuttle Mint Champs (Badminton Tournament)
  1. The competition will be conducted in singles or doubles format as decided by the organizers.
  2. Matches will be played according to the standard rules of badminton.
  3. Participants must report to the venue before their scheduled match time.
  4. Participants must carry or use the required badminton equipment as instructed by the organizers.
  5. Proper sports attire and non-marking sports shoes must be worn.
  6. Fair play, discipline and sportsmanship must be maintained throughout the competition.
  7. The score of each match will determine the winner and qualification for the next round.
  8. Any dispute will be handled by the umpire or referee, whose decision will be final.
Volley-Fest League (Volley-ball Tournament)
  1. The competition will be conducted in league or knockout format as decided by the organizers.
  2. Each team must have the specified number of players and a designated captain.
  3. Matches will be played according to the standard rules of volleyball.
  4. Players must report to the venue before their scheduled match time.
  5. Proper sports attire and footwear must be worn during the match.
  6. Fair play, discipline and sportsmanship must be maintained throughout the competition.
  7. The score of each match will determine the team's position and qualification as per the format.
  8. Any dispute will be handled by the referee or officials, whose decision will be final.
Raid-Fest League (Kabaddi Tournament)
  1. The competition will be conducted in league or knockout format as decided by the organizers.
  2. Each team must have the specified number of players and a designated captain.
  3. Matches will be played according to the standard rules of Kabaddi.
  4. Players must report to the venue before their scheduled match time.
  5. Proper sports attire and footwear must be worn during the match.
  6. Fair play, discipline and sportsmanship must be maintained throughout the competition.
  7. The score of each match will determine the team's position and qualification as per the format.
  8. Any dispute will be handled by the referee or officials, whose decision will be final.

ONLINE ACTIVITIES

Self-Fest (Selfie Competition)
  1. Participants must take a selfie based on the given theme within the specified time.
  2. The selfie must be original and clicked during the competition.
  3. Participants may use creative poses, backgrounds and permitted props to enhance their entry.
  4. Editing, filters or AI-generated images may be restricted as decided by the organizers.
  5. Participants must ensure that their entry is appropriate and respectful.
  6. Plagiarism, copied images or use of someone else's photograph is not allowed.
  7. Entries will be judged on creativity, originality, theme relevance, presentation and overall appeal.
  8. The judges' decision will be final.
ReelSkill (Video Competition)
  1. Participants must create a short reel based on the given theme or topic within the specified time.
  2. The reel must be original and created during the competition.
  3. Participants may use creative concepts, acting, editing, transitions and music as permitted.
  4. Copied content, pre-made reels or copyrighted material should not be used.
  5. The content must be appropriate, respectful and suitable for the event.
  6. Participants must submit their reel in the specified format and within the given deadline.
  7. Entries will be judged on creativity, originality, storytelling, editing, presentation and audience appeal.
  8. The judges' decision will be final.
The Game of Fire (Free Fire / BGMI)
  1. The competition will be conducted in team or squad format as decided by the organizers.
  2. Participants must use the game version and devices or platform specified by the organizers.
  3. Matches will be played according to the rules and format announced before the competition.
  4. Players must report and join the match before the scheduled start time.
  5. Hacking, cheating, exploiting glitches, teaming unfairly or using third-party software is strictly prohibited.
  6. Mobile phones, internet connection and other required equipment must be arranged as instructed by the organizers.
  7. Teams will be ranked based on match score, placement and eliminations, according to the scoring system announced.
  8. Any dispute will be handled by the officials, whose decision will be final.
Digipost (Poster / Brochure Making Competition)
  1. Participants must create a digital poster or brochure based on the given theme within the specified time.
  2. The design must be original and created during the competition.
  3. Participants may use permitted digital designing tools and software.
  4. Pre-designed templates, copied designs or downloaded artwork should not be used.
  5. The content must be clear, creative, relevant and visually appealing.
  6. Participants must submit their work in the specified format and within the given deadline.
  7. Entries will be judged on creativity, originality, design, content, presentation and overall visual impact.
  8. The judges' decision will be final.
